Mr Nico van Wyk
Lead Dentist Derbyshire
B.Ch.D. 1976 – Stellenbosch
B.Ch.D (Hons Pedodontics) 1987 – Stellenbosch
GDC number: 66864
Special Interest in Facial Aesthetics & Rejuvenation, Cerec, Tooth Whitening

Mr Nico van Wyk graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in dentistry from Stellenbosch University, South Africa in 1976. A busy two decades followed: as flying dentist in the arid Karoo, in a multi-practice in Cape Town, interspersed with a postgraduate degree and the teaching of clinical skills and theory at the university. He even found time to become a rugby referee and was the referees’ coordinator for the Rugby World Cup in 1995.

After moving to the UK in 1995, he built up the Disa Dental Group with 10 dentists in 4 practices providing both NHS and private dentistry. He continued his love of teaching as Vocational Trainer, training newly qualified dentists. When Disa Dental was sold to Genesis Dental Care in 2008 he stayed on to pursue his special interest in Aesthetic Dentistry, attending several master classes and keeping up to date with the latest materials and techniques.

His work focuses on all aspects of Smile Makeovers, from Cerec (one visit crowns) and ultrathin veneers to Tooth Whitening, both ‘in surgery’ and ‘at home’ systems. Advanced techniques in Facial Rejuvenation utilise collagen fillers to improve loss of facial volume. Muscle relaxants (botulinum toxinA) make short shrift of heavy frowns, crows’ feet around the eyes, ‘smoker’ lines around the mouth, ‘bunny’ lines along the nose.

Mr van Wyk is dedicated to give his patients the best of his vast experience and extensive skills, in the strong belief that being happy with one’s smile and facial aesthetics is key to a good self-image and confidence.
